3 Reasons You Should Incorporate Wedding First Looks Into Your Timeline

Something that’s gotten more and more popular over the years is incorporating a first look into your wedding timeline. If you haven’t heard of a first look, it’s where the bride and groom see each other prior to the ceremony. You know, when the bride sneaks up behind the groom who has his back turned, and then turns around and sees his soon-to-be bride’s absolute beauty? So many couples have been doing this, but there are still some that decide to wait until the ceremony. While there is no right or wrong option, I think there are many benefits of having wedding first looks incorporated into your timeline. The only con I can truly think of is that it’s not ideal if you’re very traditional. So with that being said, let’s get into the perks of incorporating a first look into your wedding timeline!

1.) An Intimate Moment Before The Ceremony

Having wedding first looks allows you to have a moment with your husband or wife with just the two of you. This can help to get any nerves out and take in seeing your husband or wife for the first time! It’s such an intimate moment that you can share together, without all eyes on you. Embrace all the emotion before your ceremony and set the tone for the rest of your day by being in the moment together!

2.) Share Your Private Vows Right After Your Wedding First Looks

You can also share your private vows or love letters right after your intimate first look! If you’d rather save this moment for just you and your partner, this is the perfect time to do it without all eyes and ears on you. Not every part of your wedding day needs to be presented for all to see. It’s perfectly ok to keep some of those special moments between you and your lover!

3.) Wedding Portraits & Wedding Party Photos Can be Done Early!

By doing a first look you can get all of your wedding party, family photos, and even your bride and groom portraits done before the ceremony! This is great because you can go party with all of your guests the moment the reception starts! Who wants to stop and take a bunch of photos right after the ceremony? If you’re anything like me, you just want to celebrate! Also, you can be present and enjoy the moment with your guests, without worrying about your timeline and getting photos of everyone. You can truly just go into the rest of your night enjoying your guests and celebrating your new marriage!

What are You Deciding? Wedding First Looks or Not?!

So, after reading about all of the perks of doing a first look on your wedding day, what are you deciding on? Remember, there’s no right or wrong choice! It truly depends on how you feel about it and what you want your wedding day to look like. If you want to keep it traditional, a first look isn’t for you. However, if you’d like more time for photos, and perhaps a private vow exchange, then this is for you!
